• The Cashier role at IKEA involves maintaining clean, orderly checkout areas while delivering exceptional customer service. The primary responsibilities include handling cash transactions accurately and efficiently, following standard operating procedures to ensure financial integrity, and representing the IKEA brand with professionalism. Success in this role relies on minimizing customer wait times and maintaining store standards. Cashiers act as the front-line representatives of customer service, significantly impacting customer satisfaction and the overall shopping experience.

Financial

• Receive payments by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits, adhering to SOPs for cash handling.
• Compute and record transactions ensuring 100% accuracy for all register transactions.
• Count and record the float before trading begins and upon close of trading to prevent losses.
• Ensure cash handling and safe custody of collected cash.
• Conduct audits on procedures and processes and review SOPs to ensure compliance.
• Maintain productivity as per reports.

Customers

• Ensure customers are attended to efficiently to satisfy their needs.
• Work effectively to minimize queues.
• Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas.
• Ensure adequate stock of printed stationery at required stock levels.
• Aim to improve Internal Customer Satisfaction Score (ICSS) and Local Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI).

• High level of accuracy in transaction handling.
• Mathematical skills for financial calculations.
• Excellent organizational skills to manage checkout processes smoothly.
• Strong customer service skills to handle customer interactions effectively.

• Commerce or accounting background is advantageous.
• 2-3 years of experience in handling till transactions.
• Comfortable with shift work, with flexibility and punctuality.
• Familiarity with computer use, demonstrating high accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Strong customer service abilities alongside mathematical skills.
