Overview Of The Role:
- As an IFB Commercial Purchasing Specialist, your primary responsibility involves managing the purchasing and supply of IKEA FOOD products nationally. You will organize, prepare, and implement national food purchases following IKEA purchasing processes and standards. Your role ensures the efficiency and optimization of the supply chain, maintaining food safety and quality while building key relationships with suppliers. Success factors include achieving competitive pricing, ensuring stock accuracy, and contributing to menu development by aligning with sustainability standards.
What You Will Do:
Operational
- Execute efficient and cost-effective purchasing of food, beverages, general, and operating equipment according to IKEA FOOD requirements.
- Liaise with IKEA Food Manager and Kitchen Production Manager to secure all F&B requirements, provide economical order quantities, and set par stock levels for all items.
- Ensure adherence to proper operating standards in purchasing, receiving, storage, and goods issuing areas.
- Maintain vendor performance files to ensure consistency in quality and service.
- Conduct regular vendor inspections in partnership with Health & Safety and culinary leadership.
- Follow IKEA purchasing policies, ensuring each product purchase is supported with three quotations compared by quality and price, approved by the Regional SO Team.
- Inspect thoroughly all F&B items received to ensure safety measures.
- Implement the monthly IFB stock take according to set guidelines.
- Prepare monthly discrepancy reports, initiate control measures, and follow up.
- Develop quick solutions in cases of overstock or product shortages.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of IFB supplies and storages.
- Facilitate day-to-day functions of storekeepers in the department.
- Process and document supplier requisitions in the NAVISION system.
- Play a vital role in menu development with the Kitchen Production Manager to ensure sustainable and certified resources are considered (e.g., Fairtrade, rainforest, GFSI, Organic, ASC, MSC, UTZ).
Financial
- Coordinate with IKEA IFB Admin for invoice postings.
- Ability to read and analyze KPIs for financial performance.
- Seek better prices and best quality consistently.
- Ensure required accounts are accurate and match invoices.

What Qualifies You For The Role:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, finance, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of successful food purchasing experience in food trading, food retailing, or the hotel and restaurant industry.
- Strong knowledge and passion about food and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in advanced computer skills, multi-tasking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
