• The Sales Assistant at Marks and Spencer plays a crucial role in driving sales and ensuring customer satisfaction. Responsible for delivering a positive shopping experience, the Sales Assistant must maintain a well-organized store environment and follow operational instructions set by management. The role requires an individual who is friendly, confident, and physically fit to handle stock and work on foot throughout the day. Success in this position is measured by meeting sales targets, maintaining stock levels with minimal loss, and providing excellent customer service.

Customer Service

• Creates a positive first impression for the customer through an energetic attitude and adhering to dress code.
• Greets customers immediately upon entering the store with a smile and sincere non-business like greeting.
• Provides quality service in the fitting rooms, follows up with customers in a timely manner.
• Sincerely thanks all customers for shopping at M&S as they exit the store, and invites them back.

Sales

• Meets or exceeds weekly sales targets.
• Participates in all inventories.
• Provides customers with current relevant information.
• Attempts to add on to the sale about the product.
• Captures customer information in the database.

Store Operations

• Creates a sparkling clean and organized environment by maintaining store standards and cleanliness.
• Participates in and attends all store meetings and other related functions.
• Assumes and completes other duties as assigned by store management.
• Follows M&S Policies and Procedures 100%.
• Performs housekeeping duties as required.
• Provides efficient service at the cash wrap, offers gift cards, maintains cash wrap cleanliness.

• Good verbal communication skills
• Ability to lift and manage stock
• Friendly and engaging personality
• Strong team collaboration skills

• High School Degree.
• 1-2 years of retail sales experience.
• Knowledge of fast-moving consumer goods, retail, and fashion.
• Ability to stand for a minimum of 8 hours and perform heavy lifting.
