• The Sales Associate is responsible for generating sales and delivering a positive customer experience. They manage a variety of operational duties assigned by the store management team, including maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the store, ensuring proper visual presentation standards, and participating in inventories. The role involves interacting with customers to provide information, assistance, and ultimately ensure satisfaction with their shopping experience. The Sales Associate also plays a critical role in hitting sales targets and representing both the brand and the company positively.

General

• Maintain store standards and cleanliness to create a sparkling clean and organized environment.
• Participate in and attend all store meetings and related functions.
• Represent a positive attitude toward the merchandise, the brand, and the company.
• Participate in all inventories and ensure compliance with inventory procedures.
• Assume and complete other duties as assigned by store management.
• Meet or exceed weekly sales targets and ensure punctuality and adherence to designated work schedule.
• Be flexible and work well with peers and management to accomplish duties.
• Follow M&S Policies and Procedures 100% and perform housekeeping duties as required.
• Create a positive first impression for the customer through an energetic attitude and adhering to dress code.
• Greet customers immediately upon entering the store with a smile and sincere non-business-like greeting.
• Provide customers with current, relevant information to assist in their buying decisions.
• Provide quality service in fitting rooms, follow up with customers timely, and attempt to add on to the sale.
• Offer efficient service at the cash wrap, offer gift cards, maintain cash wrap cleanliness, and capture customer information.
• Sincerely thank all customers for shopping at M&S and invite them back.

• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain a clean and organized store environment.
• Excellent customer service skills, including greeting and providing information.
• Capability to meet or exceed sales targets consistently.

• High School Degree required.
• 1-2 years of retail sales experience preferred.
• Good verbal communication skills essential.
• Ability to stand for a minimum of 8 hours and perform some heavy lifting.
• Comprehensive understanding of retail and fast-moving consumer goods/fashion required.
