Overview Of The Role:

  • The Commis role aims to assist cooks in daily food production, ensuring adherence to food safety rules for safe meal preparation. The position involves customer interactions to promote the store's values, coordinating food safety initiatives, working closely with the Chef, and ensuring operational excellence in all food service areas. Success is measured through customer satisfaction, sales growth, and compliance with safety and quality standards.

What You Will Do:

Customers


  • Ensure guests are always in focus and strive to make them smile.
  • Meet and serve guests showing empathy and care, based on IKEA values.
  • Lead by example as a good ambassador for the IKEA store.
  • Engage in a daily dialogue with guests for feedback and act on it.
  • Ensure guests have a great shopping experience throughout the day.

Commercial


  • Coordinate the area of food safety in the store.
  • Implement and follow IKEA Food Safety programs.
  • Stay updated on national food safety legislation.
  • Ensure all co-workers are familiar with CASY (incident reporting).
  • Ensure the team knows how to act in case of incidents.
  • Initiate and follow up on investigations due to incidents.

People


  • Work with the Chef to improve knowledge and expertise.
  • Ensure correct use of equipment and report failures.
  • Attend required training sessions.
  • Perform other related functions as assigned.

Steering the business


  • Work to make the store successful by attracting visitors and achieving sales growth.
  • Ensure satisfaction of guests and co-workers.
  • Ensure excellent operational performance measured through defined KPIs.
  • Implement and follow up on SOP rules and guidelines.

Operations


  • Implement IKEA Concept Documentation in various food areas.
  • Ensure availability and quality of ingredients from stores.
  • Follow standard recipes for high-quality food production.
  • Follow correct portioning and recipes.
  • Follow food safety rules and regulations.
  • Maintain clean workstation per schedule.
  • Responsible for cooking/preparing food as allocated by Chef.
  • Ensure equipment functions properly and preventive maintenance is secured.
  • Confidently handle food process and troubleshoot section issues.
  • Use full potential of IKEA Concept, tools, and best practices.

What Qualifies You For The Role:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in service environments like sales or hospitality.
  • Secondary Degree with knowledge of culinary or food service industry.
  • Strong customer focus and ability to work in a high-volume retail environment.
  • Computer literacy and multitasking skills.
