Overview Of The Role:
- The COMMIS is responsible for assisting cooks in daily food production, ensuring food safety regulations are followed. They play a critical role in enhancing guest experience and contribute to making the IKEA store successful and high performing. The role requires coordinating food safety in the store, participating in training sessions, and working with the Chef. Operational tasks include implementing IKEA documentation, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to recipes and portioning standards.
What You Will Do:
Customers
- Ensure our guests are always in focus and strive to make them smile.
- Meet and serve guests with empathy and care, listening and supporting with IKEA values.
- Lead by example and act as a good ambassador for IKEA in all guest interactions.
- Engage in daily dialogue with guests for feedback to improve their experience.
- Ensure a great shopping experience for guests throughout the day.
Commercial
- Coordinate food safety area responsibilities in the store.
- Implement and follow IKEA Food Safety programs.
- Stay updated on national legislation regarding food safety.
- Ensure familiarity with CASY (incident reporting) among IKEA FOOD co-workers.
- Guide the IKEA FOOD Team in emergency management for incidents.
- Initiate and follow up on investigations related to food incidents.
People
- Work actively with the Chef to enhance production knowledge and expertise.
- Ensure correct equipment usage and report any breakdowns to the Chef.
- Participate in training sessions as required.
- Perform other related functions as assigned.
Steering the business
- Contribute to making the IKEA store successful and high performing.
- Attract visitors, achieve sales growth and reasonable profitability.
- Ensure excellent operational performance according to KPIs.
- Implement and follow-up SOP rules and guidelines.
Operations
- Implement IKEA Concept Documentation in Restaurant, Swedish food market, Bistro and co-worker restaurant.
- Ensure quality of ingredients and timely production of food.
- Adhere strictly to portioning and recipe systems.
- Follow food safety rules for safe production and storage.
- Maintain cleanliness of work station as per cleaning schedules.
- Prepare and present culinary dishes, enforcing health and hygiene standards.
- Troubleshoot any problems arising in assigned section.
- Ensure equipment maintenance and preventive measures are performed regularly.
- Utilize IKEA Concept, tools, manuals, guidelines and best practices.

What Qualifies You For The Role:
- Minimum of 2 years in a service environment, ideally within sales or hospitality.
- Secondary Degree required.
- Strong customer focus and interest/knowledge of culinary or food service industry.
- Ability to work effectively in high-volume, fast-paced retail environments.
- Must be computer literate.
