Overview Of The Role:

  • The IKEA Commis assists in daily food production ensuring compliance with food safety rules for safe meal preparation. This role focuses on customer satisfaction by providing excellent service and maintaining the highest standards in food safety and quality. As part of the team, you will support the Chef in enhancing production expertise while actively contributing to the store's success through effective operations and guest engagement.

What You Will Do:

Customer Service


  • Ensure guests are always in focus and strive to make them smile.
  • Meet and serve guests with empathy and care.
  • Listen and support guests, demonstrating IKEA values.
  • Lead by example and be a good ambassador for the IKEA store.
  • Engage in daily dialogue with guests to gather feedback and act on their input.
  • Ensure a great shopping experience for guests throughout the day.

Commercial


  • Coordinate the area of food safety in the store.
  • Implement IKEA Food Safety programs.
  • Build relationships with national and local authorities, auditors, and suppliers.
  • Stay updated on current and upcoming national food safety legislation.
  • Familiarize co-workers with CASY (incident reporting) protocols.
  • Ensure the IKEA FOOD Team is prepared to act in case of incidents.
  • Initiate and follow up on investigations of food safety issues.

People


  • Work with the Chef to increase expertise in food production.
  • Ensure correct use of equipment and report any breakdowns.
  • Attend food safety and other relevant training sessions.
  • Perform related functions assigned as needed.

Steering the Business


  • Work towards making the IKEA store successful and high-performing.
  • Attract visitors and achieve sales growth and profitability.
  • Ensure guest and co-worker satisfaction and operational performance.

Operations


  • Implement systems and methods as per IKEA Concept Documentation.
  • Ensure availability and quality of ingredients for timely food production.
  • Follow standard recipes for high-quality food production.
  • Adhere to food safety rules for safe production and storage.
  • Maintain clean workstations per cleaning schedules.
  • Guide cooking and presentation of culinary dishes.
  • Ensure equipment and machinery standards are met.
  • Utilize IKEA Concept tools and best practices.
  • Perform other related functions as assigned.

What Qualifies You For The Role:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a service environment, ideally in sales or hospitality.
  • Secondary degree.
  • Interest and knowledge in culinary or food service industry.
  • Strong customer focus and ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced retail environment.
  • Multitasking capabilities.
  • Computer literacy.
