• The IKEA FOOD CASHIER operates cash registers, maintains clean and orderly checkout areas, and delivers excellent customer service. The role involves ensuring customer satisfaction, managing cash transactions accurately, supporting store operations, and promoting IKEA's values. The cashier is a crucial team member, maintaining efficient customer flow and ensuring compliance with food safety and operational procedures.

Customers

• Ensure our guests are always in focus and strive to make them smile.
• Meet and serve our guests showing empathy and care.
• Lead by example and be a good ambassador for the IKEA store in all contact with our guests.
• Engage in daily dialogue with guests to gather feedback about their experiences.
• Ensure guests have a great shopping experience throughout the day.
• Work efficiently to minimize queues.
• Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas.

Commercial

• Responsible for proper cash handling and accurately process sales using cash registers and scanners.
• Use different selling techniques to boost sales.
• Be fully knowledgeable about the IFB Menu and stay updated on food safety legislation.
• Process customer payments quickly and accurately.
• Assist other IFB co-workers as needed.
• Ensure that the IKEA FOOD Team knows how to act in case of incidents.

People

• Actively work with the Chef to increase knowledge and expertise in production.
• Ensure the correct use of equipment and report breakdowns to the Chef.
• Attend and participate in training sessions as required.
• Perform other related functions as assigned.

Operations

• Work actively to make the IKEA store successful and high performing.
• Ensure the implementation and follow-up of SOP rules and guidelines.
• Receive payments by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits.
• Compute and record transactions ensuring 100% accuracy for all register transactions.
• Perform cash handling and ensure the safe custody of collected cash.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer focus and ability to deliver a great shopping experience.
• Ability to work efficiently and minimize queues under pressure.
• Proven leadership and team-building capabilities.

• Minimum of 2 years of previous service environment experience, ideally in sales or hospitality.
• Secondary Degree required.
• Interest and knowledge of the culinary or food service industry.
• Strong customer focus and multitasking capabilities.
• Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced, and constantly changing retail environment.
• Proven leadership skills and ability to foster team motivation and development.
• Proficiency in English communication and interpersonal skills.
• Computer literacy is required.
