Overview Of The Role:
The Sales Assistant role is crucial in driving sales and providing exceptional customer service within the IKEA market hall area. This position entails maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization, engaging positively with customers, and supporting various operational tasks as directed by the shopkeeper. Success in this role will be measured by sales performance, adherence to company policies, and customer feedback. The Sales Assistant must embody IKEA values, work collaboratively with the sales team, and be physically capable of standing and handling stock throughout the day.
What You Will Do:
Sales and Customer Engagement
- Meet or exceed weekly sales targets.
- Greet customers immediately upon entering the store with a smile and positive attitude.
- Provide customers with current relevant information and assistance.
- Create a positive first impression for customers through energetic demeanor and adherence to dress code.
- Represent a positive attitude toward merchandise, the brand, and the company.
- Participate in all market hall inventories.
- Assume and complete other duties as assigned by the shopkeeper.
Store Operations and Management
- Maintain store standards and cleanliness, ensuring an organized environment.
- Participate in and attend all store meetings and related functions.
- Follow IKEA policies and procedures 100%.
- Contribute to a flexible working environment, cooperating with peers and management.
- Be punctual and adhere to designated work schedules.
- Ensure compliance with safety and operational guidelines.
Required Skills To Be Successful:
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to meet sales targets consistently.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Strict adherence to organizational policies and procedures.
What Qualifies You For The Role:
- High School Degree required.
- Minimum 1 year of retail sales experience.
- Proficient verbal communication skills.
- Physical ability to lift products and stand for a minimum of 8 hours.
- Warm and friendly demeanor with a customer-focused approach.
- Adherence to Al-Futtaim and IKEA values.
