Overview Of The Role:
The Sales Assistant plays a vital role in sales generation and ensuring customers have a positive experience in the market hall area. This role supports all operational duties assigned by the shopkeeper, including product arrangement and sales floor maintenance. By maintaining store standards and adhering to company policies, the Sales Assistant contributes to achieving sales targets and enhancing the brand image. Success in this position involves effective communication, customer focus, and the ability to work collaboratively within the sales team.


What You Will Do:

Sales Generation and Customer Experience

  • Meet or exceed weekly sales targets.
  • Create a positive first impression for customers through an energetic attitude and adhering to dress code.
  • Greet customers immediately upon entering the store with a smile.
  • Provide customers with current, relevant information.
  • Represent a positive attitude toward the merchandise, the brand, and the company.
  • Follow IKEA policies and procedures 100%.

Store Maintenance and Operations

  • Create a sparkling clean and organized environment by maintaining store standards and cleanliness.
  • Participate in all market hall inventories.
  • Participate in and attend all store meetings and other related functions.
  • Assume and complete other duties as assigned by the shopkeeper.
  • Maintain the sales floor and arrange products as per operational duties.
  • Be punctual and adhere to designated work schedule.
  • Be flexible and work well with peers and management to accomplish duties.


Required Skills To Be Successful:

  • Strong customer focus and service orientation.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain store cleanliness and standards.
  • Capability to work flexibly with peers and management.


What Qualifies You For The Role:

  • High School Degree.
  • 1 year of retail sales experience.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lift certain products and stand for a minimum of 8 hours.
