Overview Of The Role:
The Sales Assistant plays a crucial role in sales generation while delivering a positive customer experience within the market hall area. The role involves supporting operational duties as assigned by the shopkeeper, including product arrangement and sales floor maintenance. Success in this position is measured by meeting sales targets, maintaining excellent store standards, and providing exemplary customer service. The Sales Assistant is expected to embody IKEA's values and engage effectively with customers and team members.
What You Will Do:
- Maintain a clean and organized store environment, ensuring store standards and cleanliness.
- Represent a positive attitude toward the merchandise, the brand, and the company.
- Assume and complete duties as assigned by the shopkeeper.
- Meet or exceed weekly sales targets.
- Participate in market hall inventories to ensure stock accuracy.
- Attend all store meetings and related functions to stay informed and engaged.
- Adhere to designated work schedule and punctuality.
- Collaborate well with peers and management to accomplish tasks.
- Follow IKEA policies and procedures strictly.
- Create a positive first impression for customers with an energetic attitude and dress code adherence.
- Greet customers with a smile immediately upon entering the store.
- Provide customers with current relevant information and assist them with inquiries.
Required Skills To Be Successful:
- Excellent customer service skills and understanding of customer needs.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a sales team.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Flexible approach to working and adapting to various tasks.
What Qualifies You For The Role:
- High School Degree is required.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in retail sales.
- Ability to lift and handle products as required.
- Capability to stand for a minimum of 8 hours a day.
- Possesses good verbal communication skills.
- Warm and friendly demeanor with a customer-focused attitude.
- Understanding of retail sales, fast-moving stock, consumer goods, and fashion.
