Overview Of The Role:
The Sales Assistant at Toys R Us is responsible for generating sales and delivering a positive customer experience. This involves adhering to store operational duties as assigned by the store management, including maintaining visual presentation standards and store cleanliness. The role requires creating a welcoming environment that encourages customer interaction and satisfaction.
What You Will Do:
General
- Maintain a sparkling clean and organized environment by adhering to store standards.
- Create a positive first impression for customers by maintaining an energetic attitude and adhering to the dress code.
- Greet customers immediately upon entering the store with a smile and sincere greeting.
- Provide customers with current and relevant product information.
- Provide quality service in the fitting rooms and follow up with customers in a timely manner.
- Offer additional sales ideas in fitting rooms and maintain cash wrap cleanliness.
- Provide efficient service at the cash wrap, offer gift cards, and capture customer information in the database.
- Sincerely thank all customers for shopping as they exit the store and invite them to return.
Required Skills To Be Successful:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively use CAD software for visual merchandising.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment.
What Qualifies You For The Role:
- High School Degree or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of retail sales experience.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) packages such as AutoCAD, Sketchup, Illustrator, or Photoshop to create visuals and plans.
- Good verbal communication skills and ability to perform some heavy lifting and stand for a minimum of 8 hours.
