Overview of the role:

The Fire Fighting Site Engineer is responsible for the execution, supervision, and coordination of fire protection system works at site, ensuring compliance with project specifications, international standards (NFPA), and local authority requirements (e.g., Civil Defense). The role ensures that all fire fighting installations are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. 

What you will do:

Responsible For:

1.Site Execution & Supervision

Supervise installation of fire fighting systems including:

• Fire pumps (diesel/electric/jockey) 
• Wet & dry riser systems 
• Sprinkler systems 
• Hose reels & landing valves 
• Foam / clean agent systems (if applicable) 

• Ensure works are executed as per approved shop drawings and method statements • Monitor daily site activities and progress.

2. Coordination 

Coordinate with:

• Main contractor / client representatives
• MEP trades (HVAC, electrical, plumbing)
• Civil team for openings, sleeves, and supports

• Attend site meetings and provide technical inputs 

3. Quality Control 

Ensure compliance with:

• NFPA standards
• Project specifications
• Civil Defense requirements

• Conduct internal inspections prior to consultant/client inspections • Raise MIR/WIR (Material/Work Inspection Requests) 

4. Testing & Commissioning 

 • Participate in:

• Hydrostatic pressure testing
• Flushing and cleaning of piping systems 
• Fire pump testing and performance verification

 • Support testing, commissioning, and final handover.

5. Safety Compliance

• Ensure all site activities comply with HSE requirements

• Enforce safe work practices and proper use of PPE

• Identify and mitigate site risks 

6. Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare:

•  Daily/weekly progress reports
• Site logs and work records 

• Track material usage and site requirements • Assist in preparing as-built drawings.

7. Material & Resource Management

• Plan and request materials in advance

• Coordinate with procurement for timely delivery

• Manage manpower allocation efficiently.

Required skills to be successful:

• Strong coordination and communication skills
• Problem-solving mindset under site constraints 
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines 
• Leadership skills to manage technicians and subcontractors.
• Familiar with testing & commissioning procedures
• Strong Knowledge in NFPA standards (especially NFPA 13, 14, 20, 25) and Civil Defense regulations.

What equips you for the role:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• 3–7 years of experience in fire fighting systems (UAE/GCC preferred)
