Real Estate

Al-Futtaim Group Real Estate (AFGRE) is responsible for the development and operations of Al-Futtaim’s real estate businesses across the Middle East and North Africa which includes:

Dubai Festival City, a 520 hectare waterfront mixed use community, opened in 2005.

Cairo Festival City, a 290 hectare mixed use development, opened in December 2013.

Doha Festival City, comprising 433,847 sq m (land) + 250,000 sq m (GLA) opened in April 2017, IKEA opened in March 2013.

Al-Futtaim Engineering, Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing Maintenance

Al-Futtaim Engineering's MEP division is a specialist engineering company undertaking the design, engineering, supply, installation, commissioning and maintenance of mechanical, electrical and Plumbing services for commercial, residential and infrastructure projects. With an experienced team of leaders, managers supported by highly qualified and experienced engineers and technicians, the MEP division has the ability to handle even the most demanding of mechanical, air conditioning, electrical, Plumbing and fire protection projects, which requires on time delivery of quality products.

Al-Futtaim Engineering’s MEP division was first established in 1978 in the UAE and has since expanded its operations into KSA, Qatar and Egypt in recent years.

About the Position:


Facilities management is the integration of processes within the organisation to maintain and develop the required services standard which support and improve the effectiveness of the assets and their primary activities. The Facilities Manager GM (FMGM) is involved in both strategic planning and day-to-day operations, in relation to buildings, premises, infrastructure and the business operational requirements.

Al Futtaim Group Real Estate (AFGRE) would like to bring a dynamic General FMGM who will be responsible for providing, maintaining and developing a multitude of services including security and health & safety. Such services range from property strategy, building, infrastructure and facilities maintenance, space management, communications, administration and contract management for a number of outsourced engineering, maintenance and cleaning service providers.

The FMGM also has to develop and maintain standard operating procedures, emergency response plans, preventive and predictive maintenance programmes and all technical documentation.


The key responsibilities of the role include:


Assess the current condition of electrical, air conditioning, plumbing and other essential facilities and equipment.

Planning for future development in line with strategic business objectives.

Managing and leading change to ensure minimum disruption to facilities and core activities

Ensure the buildings and Facilities meets health and safety requirements.


Recruiting facilities service staff and training them appropriately to ensure competent work output through the Al Futtaim Training Centre and external sources.

Develop staff development programs such as skills enhancement trainings and sessions.

Evaluate the work quality of his staff and other subordinates.


Participate in the development of policies and procedures that affect the use of supplies and facilities.

Initiate interventions to solve problems in the facilities.

Ensure the safety of the building or establishment from fire, flood and other hazards.

Manage the service in accordance with the SLA and KPI to ensure satisfaction to all customers.


Prepare pertinent records and reports for the safety service division of the institution.

Maintain accurate records of the condition of the equipment and other systems in the building.

Create a schedule of regular evaluation of the facilities.

Create monitoring systems or programs in the institution to detect problems as early as possible. To be coordinated with the Command Control Centre (CCC).

Fully manage the operation of the Command Control Centre (CCC).


Responsible for maintaining customer relationships by being available in person and by other means

Promptly intervene, reorganise, sustainably rectify and confirm satisfaction of customers when unresolved FM issues arise.

About You:

Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge:

  • B. Engineering degree; MBA advantageous


Minimum Experience:


  • 10 years proven experience in Facilities Management in large organizations. Experience in mixed- use facilities will be advantageous.


Job-Specific Skills: Engineering management

  • Extensive knowledge of the Real Estate industry (5 years) and market conditions in the Middle East and Africa (3 years).


  • Having worked within a Facilities Management environment with GCC in a managerial role.


  • Proficient in MS Office suites including MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint, Project Manager.
