About the Job:

Based in our Regional Head office in Dubai; we now have a need for an experienced Buying Manager. Reporting into the General Manager, you will manage a team of buyers and have full buyer responsibilities that will vary from range planning; managing the budgets/pricing strategy and getting involved with promotional planning and activities. 

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Managing and heading a team of buyers for 5 key categories
  • Maintaining relation with suppliers regarding the existing range of products and also follow up for updates on the latest new products in line with the market trends
  • Monitoring stock movements and generate purchase orders to maintain optimum level of stocks as per the business requirement
  • Initiating market survey to ensure that we are competitive in the market with regard to pricing and product range
  • Interacting with suppliers for feedback regarding the progress on various product lines and to ensure that we have adequate stocks on the product range
  • Monitoring and reviewing each product price and range to obtain credit note and volume rebates from suppliers
  • Development of key successful categories
  • Creating exclusivity with suppliers to gain greater market share
About You:

To seriously be considered for this opportunity it is essential that you have had previous experience in managing children's categories.

Ideally degree qualified you will bring with you a wealth of buying / merchandising experience gained within a children's/babies retail brand.  As an effective communicator you will have an excellent track record of developing longstanding relationships with key stakeholders that include senior managers within the business along with suppliers and vendors.  Candidates who gained an exposure to SAP are very much encouraged to apply. 

In addition to this you need to understand the full financial aspects around category management, managed a P&L and understand buying integration in relation to logistics.
