Job Purpose:

You will be responsible for overall coordination of learning and development for the store in line with the store business plan, business needs and development needs.


You will be an appointed Trainer for soft skills and generic programs (e.g. Train the Trainer, Coaching, Presentation Skills, communication Skills etc.) as per their capability. Primary purpose is to secure the right training/development for the right people at the right time.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Lead the learning and development process in the store, working in a proactive way with the Learning Pathways, commercial Calendar and Line Managers,
  • Secure maximum utilisation of all learning offers available through the In-store Training Calendar, Group L&D Training Calendar, Inter-IKEA Programs, iGrow and My Learning.
  • Secure the competence levels within the store are sustainable though the identification and development of a pool of in-store departmental trainers, delivery of Performance Management Workshops and other localised training initiatives.
  • Measure the impact of training programs on the business and people through various surveys, evaluations and follow up.
  • Lead the new joiner induction process and develop the buddy pool within the store.
  • Support the business expansion through succession planning, IDPs and other development opportunities across the region.
  • Sustain Leadership Development through utilisation of the leadership programs available in both IKEA and Al Futtaim. Train, coach and mentor managers in leadership skills.
  • Manage the training budget annually and monitoring monthly expenditure.
  • Undertake annual business needs analysis on annual basis to secure L&D initiatives support the business plans.
  • Secure, maintain and administer overall training records and resources including rooms, materials and equipment.
